About Us

The South African Radio League (SARL) is the National Association for Amateur Radio in South Africa.

It is a registered non-profit organisation with the broad objective of ensuring that amateur radio in South Africa is aligned with international standards through its membership of the IARU Region 1.

Locally the licensing of amateurs are performed by ICASA and not by the SARL, although the SARL endeavours to cultivate close ties with all regulatory bodies.

The SARL currently has around 1600 members and is very ably guided by 10 Councillors that have vast experience in amateur radio and associated matters. Comments are welcome by email to sarl.amateurs@gmail.com
