Amateur Radio operations in South Africa is regulated by the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA), who is the official regulator of the South African communications, broadcasting and postal services sectors.

Any amateur must obtain a license from ICASA before commencing operations.

The SARL is in no way authorised or enabled to issue licenses and is merely acting in a helpful manner to assist amateurs with their licenses, but cannot intervene in disputes or issues.
